Lots of Goodbyes(Weeks 76-78)

6/4
Hey everyone this week was a very hectic week! We had transfer planning this week and we did a lot of planning the transfers. We got it all figured out and all of the new areas look good! Elder McDonald and Elder Fiu flew in from Darwin on Wednesday.  Elder Fiu went to Mildura and Elder McDonald became the assistant to replace Elder Miller who leaves on Tuesday! We then had more time to proselyte this week which was great to talk with more people! The sad part this week was that Elder Chen is finally home, he left on Friday.  It was sad to see my first companion who trained me gone, but he did a great work here in Australia! Then on Saturday we went to a baptism down south in the Marion zone and it was one of the most spiritual services I have been to! It was a part member family and the son who was 12 was baptized! The mother because of her sons baptism was reactivated into the church after many years of not attending. She spoke at his baptism and bore her testimony, which was very powerful! She also cried as she saw her son enter the waters of baptism and be baptized. It was a beautiful sight and experience indeed! Then on Sunday we attended church, it was fast Sunday and it was great!! There were two investigators that went up and bore strong testimonies that the things they have been taught were true. That was amazing.  Also a man that went inactive for 2 years went up and bore his testimony that he has come back and learned from his bad choices and trials and will make things right again. It was a very powerful service! Later that evening we attended the fireside and President and Sister Parker were saying one of their very many last words for the month. It was great to be there to watch them and hear them.  We helped the sisters set up the displays.  We also had to set up a new book of Mormon display with questions of the Soul. It is such a testimony that the book of Mormon will answer any question of the soul.  I have seen that happen to many people that I have taught.  I challenge all of you to bring a question and read the book and I promise you will find your answer! We also had the transfer call last night and today was transfers, it was hectic.  Everything was going well until an unexpected fog came in cancelling and delaying flights which messed everyone up in getting their companions. We were driving around everyone all over and helping everyone get their stuff and companions.  We were very busy, but feel accomplished! I hope you all have a great week! I LOVE YOU ALL!!!

Bye Elder Chen
6/10
Hey everyone hope you all had a great week! It was a pretty crazy week this week! On Monday we had transfers and so there was a big whole mess with flights and an unexpected fog which cancelled and pushed back flights making the actual day really chaotic ha ha! But we were able to get everyone to their areas and so overall it was great problem solving opportunities on the spot ha ha! Then on Tuesday we had leadership meeting which was awesome! It was very tiring though because that morning at about 4:00am we dropped Elder Miller off and said goodbye to him and then I also said goodbye to the remaining sisters from my MTC district and so that just leaves Elder Duckworth and myself ha ha! After leadership meeting we then had trainers training and sister training leader meeting. We were able to get through those and had great discussions and we finished around 5, it was a long day of meetings! Then on Wednesday we went to the airport and picked up the new missionaries and that day we had arrivers orientation all day.  We got to know them and they were assigned to their areas! We had another 14 come in so there was heaps! Then on Thursday we had arrivers training and it went very well! We then had a special dinner with the Parkers and they went over some responsibilities as an assistant to the president and then he gave us special blessings each so it was very spiritual and an awesome experience! The weekend we were more free to proselyte so we did that, which is always good! We also had hot pot again with Elder McDonald and he loved it. Of course I always love it ha ha! We then attended church on Sunday and is always great to be able to see everyone there! Overall it was a busy, but great week! I hope you all have a great week and I LOVE YOU ALL!!!

6/17

Hey everyone I do not even know where to start this week went by really fast and I mean really fast! We were pretty busy this week helping make a video of all of the missionaries for the Parkers to show to all of the zones before they leave in a couple of months, that took a while but it was great and I think we did a good job at the video ha ha! We also were able to get in some more proselyting in the city which is always good to be able to do. It has been rainy all week which means it is winter and one of the days had 90km winds and a lot of things were being blown down. It was pretty crazy and I almost flew away ha ha, just kidding I am not that light! We also had 9 baptisms across the mission and 8 came from Alice Springs which is a new record for Alice Springs in like the past 6 years, which is great to see that this is a mission of miracles! This update will be a lot shorter than usual because most of this week we went proselyting! The last thing that happened was on Monday the sisters had a stalker follow them all day and take pictures of them, so they were really scared. We drove down south and you could say secured the area ha ha! We then moved the sisters out and we stayed and tried to see if we could catch the guy, but he hasn't shown up since which is good. It was reported to the police. Needless to say it was an interesting night. I hope you all have a great week and I LOVE YOU ALL!!!
